Liz Cheney was born on July 28, 1966, in Madison, Wisconsin. She is the elder daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney and Lynne Cheney. She attended McLean High School in McLean, Virginia and later graduated from Colorado College in 1989. Following her graduation, she attended the University of Chicago Law School and received her J.D. degree in 1996.
Cheney started her career as a corporate lawyer in Washington D.C. and worked there for two years.
