Jeffrey Atkins, better known by his stage name Ja Rule, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. He is known for his collaborations with fellow New York-based rapper Ashanti, as well as for his solo albums Venni Vetti Vecci, Pain Is Love, and The Last Temptation. Over the course of his career, Ja Rule has sold over 30 million records worldwide, making him one of the most successful hip hop artists of all time.
Ja Rule’s Early Life
Jeffrey Atkins was born on February 29th, 1976 in Queens, New York. He was raised in Hollis, a neighborhood in Queens, and began rapping at a young age. As a teenager, he was an original member of the Cash Money Click, a rap group that included fellow Hollis natives DMX, Jay-Z, and Busta Rhymes. Ja Rule dropped out of high school in his junior year and began to focus on his music career.
